If you only get your news from the mainstream media you may be forgiven for thinking the Republican Party was going down in flames.

But fundraising figures tell a different story.

June 2017 was a disaster for the Democratic National Committee.

So was May 2017. And April 2017. And, actually, all of 2017.

In June the Republican National Committee raised $13.5 million, which is more than double the $5.5 million the DNC brought in during the same period.

So far in 2017, the RNC has taken in a total of $75.4 million while the DNC has taken in just $38.1 million. As of June 30, the RNC had $44.7 million on hand; the DNC had $7.5 million on hand.

As Aaron Bandler writes at the Daily Wire,

As it turns out, when your party doubles down on identity politics, installs a Hugo Chavez-esque figure to run the DNC, and constantly hypes impeachment, it becomes a lot harder to win and raise cash. Who knew?
